Peelable Coatings

Carbicote Strippable Coating

Carbit’s peelable coatings, often referred to as strippable booth coats, have been trusted for over 40 years to keep spray booths, floors, and work areas clean and protected. These temporary coatings form a removable barrier that traps overspray, protects surfaces, and peels away easily when it’s time for a fresh start.

Why Use Peelable Coatings?

  • Maintain clean, bright, and safe work environments
  • Simplify booth and floor maintenance without harsh chemicals
  • Improve visibility, quality, and overall productivity
  • Provide temporary protection for both industrial and aviation applications
  • Paint spray booths are returned to service the same day they are painted with Carbit’s Strippable Booth Coatings.

Carbit offers both water- and solvent-based systems in clear, white, or custom tints, backed by technical expertise and product samples for testing.

Whether you’re protecting walls, lights, windows, or floors, Carbit’s peelable coatings deliver an efficient and cost-effective way to extend the life of your workspace and demonstrate a commitment to quality.

Explore Aviation Applications:

Aviation Spray Booths

Cleaner Booths, Better Finishes

For over a decade, aircraft painters have relied on Carbit’s 947 Strippable Floor Paint and 946 Strippable Wall Paint to keep their spray booths clean and bright.

In large aviation hangars, overspray typically settles on the floor rather than walls. If left unchecked, contaminated surfaces can release particles that compromise finish quality, leading to costly rework. Carbit peelable coatings protect surfaces, capture overspray, and simplify cleanup - improving finish consistency, reducing defects, and minimizing downtime.

Overspray Control for Safer Work

Precision finishing requires strict control of overspray. In crossdraft booths, air moves quickly across the aircraft, pulling overspray toward filters, while downdraft booths use slower, higher-volume airflow that allows paint to settle downward. Both setups risk overspray contamination.

Carbit peelable floor coatings provide an added layer of protection by trapping overspray on the floor. The result is faster cleanup, safer work environments, and a consistently higher-quality finish on every aircraft.

Aviation-Ready Coating Solutions

Carbit offers advanced coatings designed specifically for aircraft paint hangars:

  • NEW! 940 Water-Based Strippable Floor Coating – A low-VOC, low-odor solution that protects against stains, wheel marks, and spills while peeling away cleanly without chemicals. A durable alternative to booth paper.

  • 947 Bright White Solvent-Based Strippable Floor Coating – A tough, seamless film that resists tearing, withstands traffic within one hour, and strips readily from booth floors. Also suitable for walls.

Applications include: commercial aircraft paint hangars, military and defense facilities, and private jet or helicopter finishing booths.

Explore Industrial Applications

Industrial Manufacturing

Advanced Water-Based Finishes

Carbit has spent over a century innovating coatings for industrial markets, with the past decade focused on developing low-VOC, water-based technologies. These versatile coatings apply to metals, plastics, and composites, providing durable performance across diverse environments and substrates.

Proven Product Solutions

Carbit’s lineup includes the 314 Series for back-painted glass, offering one-coat high-hiding whites, custom-matched colors, and excellent early water resistance. For higher-volume finish lines, the 387 Acrylic delivers the durability of a 2K polyurethane in a self-crosslinking, one-component formula; force-drying quickly for efficient production.

NEW! 940 Universal Peelable Floor Coating

Carbit’s 940 Strippable Floor Paint is a water-based, low-VOC, low-odor coating that creates a temporary, cleanable surface while protecting against stains, wheel marks, and spills. When it’s time to refresh, it peels away easily without the use of chemicals.

Where to Use:
